i used to only use a 24" 4:3 CRT pre 2004 and eventually transitioned to a 19" 4:3 LCD which i have been playing source on and surfing with since around 2005
i got this dell monitor the day it was announced at CES because i have a good employee purchase program through them and was able to stack discounts
