Survey about surfing, WRs and mapping

Hey there, I am still gathering more info on surfing (also see the wikipedia thread: http://ksfclan.com/forum/showthread.php?4820-Help-writing-a-wikipedia-page&p=16786#post16786).

I was hoping people also would be willing to fill out a survey about surfing. Even better if you can share it! Doesn't matter if people are not familiar with surfing.

i'm very curious about the origin of surfing. i wouldn't believe that 1.6 guy without proof.

it's been a very long time and as someone who was actually surfing in 2004 I seem to remember surfing in cs:s first then it catching on in 1.6 too.

there is at least proof of the first cs:s surf maps being released in late 2004 on fpsbanana.

A decent amount of stuff posted there can be somewhat proven with google.

December 11, 2004 is when surf_the-gap(1.6) was posted on 17buddies. April 7, 2005 for surf_raceway(css). Since both games were out by then, it probably wouldn't take too long to try making a map in css after seeing one in 1.6.
