So I will be showing you how to make good surf videos, with the HUD hidden and motion blur effect and all that goody goodness.
THINGS NEEDED:
-CS:S
-FRAPS (just torrent it)
-SONY VEGAS 8 (find the good keygen)
I wont provide links for obvious reasons.
OK HERE ARE THE STEPS.
1. In CS:S We need to make a demo first. If you already know how to do this, skip to step 7.
2. When you are ready to record, type this in console:
record <demo name>
3. Where it says <demo name> you can replace that with the name of your demo. Like this:
record demo01
4. This should only be done in spectate mode, your demo will lag if it is you playing.
NOTE: If you want to record your self use another computer in the house to download a nonsteam cs:s for free and record a demo on there, and then transfer the demo file to your good computer with a USB memory stick or CD. (Demo files are only like 2 mb)
5. When done recording, type stop in console.
6. Okay now close CS:S, and do the following.
7. Make two cfg files. Put this in the first one:
// Hide the HUD
sv_cheats 1
// ONLY ON LAN SERVER
r_drawviewmodel 0
hud_saytext_time 0
hud_deathnotice_time 0
cl_drawhud 0
8. Save it as hudhide.cfg in the cstrike/cfg folder.
9. Make a second. Put this in it and save to hudshow.cfg
// Show the HUD
// ONLY ON LAN SERVER
r_drawviewmodel 1
hud_saytext_time 11
hud_deathnotice_time 6
cl_drawhud 1
// Finish Up
sv_cheats 0
10. Open your config.cfg, put this at the bottom:
bind k "exec hudhide.cfg"
bind l "exec hudshow.cfg"
11. Now when you start the game, and are watching a demo, press K to hide the hud, and L to show it!
**NOTE: The hudhider does not work when playing on a server! Only when watching demos!
12. Start fraps and make sure you settings are like this:
- NO BENCHMARKING
- 60fps
- Half Size
- No sound (You put music in later)
13. Start CS:S
14. Type this in console:
playdemo <demo name>
15. Right as the demo starts playing, press F9 to start fraps, then press K to hide the HUD.
16. Wait for the demo to finish.
17. Press F9 Once it is done.
18. Make a new project in sony vegas.
19. Use the profile HDV 720-30p.
20. Make sure motion blur is set to Gaussian.
21. Edit how you like.
22. Render As
22. Select AVI from the file type
23. Click Custom
24. Go to the project tab and set Project Rendering quality to Best
25. Click the video tab.
26. Set frame type to HDV 720, Frame rate to 27.97 and Video format to xvid mpeg4.
27. Click configure (next to video format drop down)
28. Slide the slider all the way to the left for max quality.
29. Click ok.
30. Write a template name and description and save it so you can use it later.
31. Render
32. Admire your work!
